Celebrating Legacy, Leadership, and Lift: Why Women in Aviation & Aerospace Day Matters to Us

Every December, the Oklahoma aviation community gathers for one of the most meaningful events of the year: Women in Aviation & Aerospace Day. For Custom Case Pros, this event isn’t just a date on the calendar. It’s a tradition, a celebration of progress, and a reminder of the responsibility we carry as a woman-owned small business serving the aerospace and defense ecosystem.

This year’s event, being held on December 12 at AAR’s new three-bay 737 hangar, marks the 9th annual celebration and one of the largest to date. The atmosphere will be filled with energy and pride as hundreds of industry professionals, students, partners, and community leaders gathered to honor a century of aviation history in Oklahoma, from 1925 to 2025.

With Amelia Rose Earhart delivering a powerful keynote and Col. Dawn Zoldi serving as the celebrity emcee, the program blends leadership, legacy, and inspiration, a perfect backdrop for an event that reminds us how far our industry has come and how much further we can go when we continue uplifting the next generation of aviation pioneers.

Honoring the Women Who Inspire Us

One of the core reasons we attend this event every year is our genuine admiration for women leaders in every field, not just aviation. As a WOSB, we know firsthand the grit and determination required to build something meaningful, carve a space in competitive industries, and lead with purpose.

Women like Amelia Rose Earhart, Pearl Carter Scott, Wally Funk, Col. Nicole Malachowski, and Col. Eileen Collins show what’s possible when passion and courage align. Their accomplishments create a runway for women, and men, who follow. Their stories remind us that leadership has many forms, and that representation matters.

For our team, celebrating women in aviation isn’t symbolic, it’s personal. It reflects our values, our business identity, and the future we want to help shape. This day stands as a reminder that the aviation industry grows stronger when every voice, background, and skillset has an opportunity to lead.

Why We Show Up: A Commitment Beyond Attendance

Our founders, Travis and Amber Provaznik, volunteer for setup each year because being part of this event matters on a deeper level. Supporting this day isn’t about being present, it’s about participating in a movement that honors history, champions inclusion, and invests in the next 100 years of Oklahoma aviation.

We show up because:

  1. Community is at the heart of our business.

Oklahoma aviation has played a key role in our company’s growth. Supporting the events that strengthen this ecosystem is part of our responsibility and our pride.

  1. We are committed to empowering others.

As a WOSB, our success is tied to the women who paved the way. This event celebrates those leaders and encourages others to follow.

  1. We believe in investing in the next generation.

Every year, aviation students attend this event, often experiencing their first industry conference. Seeing their enthusiasm reminds us of the long-term impact events like this have on workforce development.

  1. Industry relationships are built on shared values.

We partner closely with aerospace and defense organizations across Oklahoma. Showing up in support, not just as vendors or suppliers, but as community members, strengthens those connections.

  1. History should be celebrated and preserved.

This year’s tribute to Hatbox Field honored an important piece of Oklahoma’s aviation heritage. It’s a reminder that innovation happens when we understand and respect the legacy behind us.

Women in Aviation & Aerospace Day isn’t just an event, it’s a reflection of the values we carry at Custom Case Pros:

  • Innovation
  • Resilience
  • Leadership
  • Community involvement
  • Respect for the past and commitment to the future

It’s a day that brings together the people who make Oklahoma a national force in aerospace, engineers, students, program managers, technicians, pilots, founders, and visionaries. And year after year, we walk away inspired by the connections made and stories shared.

Looking Ahead to the Next Century of Aviation

Oklahoma’s aviation history began nearly a century ago when Amelia Earhart landed at Hatbox Field in Muskogee. Today, the same determination and spirit continue to shape our state’s aerospace community.

As we celebrate 100 years, from 1925 to 2025, we are grateful to be part of an industry that pushes boundaries, embraces new ideas, and champions excellence.

Women in Aviation & Aerospace Day reminds us that leadership doesn’t belong to one group, it belongs to all of us who show up, contribute, innovate, and push this industry forward.

We are honored to attend each year, to volunteer, and to support the growth of aviation in Oklahoma. We look forward to continuing this tradition and playing our part for many years to come.
