Previously in the Custom Corner of Pelican Cases, we explained the benefits of the PRV and Humidity Indicator. Feel free to check out the article: Custom Corner: The Importance of Humidity Indicators and Purge Valves For Airtight Cases.

Now, let’s touch on the numerous identification options available for the Pelican Hardigg single lid, roto mold cases. When it comes to transporting and storing sensitive equipment, proper identification and organization are key to ensuring everything stays in its rightful place. Pelican roto mold cases offer a variety of identification options to suit your specific needs, ensuring easy tracking, handling, and durability for mission-critical gear.

Front Labels for Proper Indexing

Pelican’s “all-catch” (AC) cases can come equipped with a unique identification system: front labels. These labels are strategically placed in two locations—on the base and on the lid—right within the latch wells. This setup ensures that the lids are always put back on the case in the correct orientation, preventing any misalignment. This feature helps maintain the integrity of the case’s seal, ensuring maximum protection for your gear.

Epoxy Stencil

Per MIL-I-43553 standards, epoxy stencils are a popular option for labeling cases. These stencils are available in various ink colors, including Black, White, Yellow, and other customizable color combinations. If no color is specified, we will choose the appropriate ink color based on the case color. For example:

  • White Ink is typically used on Dark Blue, Black, and Lt. Blue cases.
  • Yellow Ink is used on Gray cases.

You also have the option to customize the stencil text, graphic size, font, and location to fit your specific needs.

I.D. Plates

For cases that require a more permanent identification method, I.D. Plates are an excellent solution. These plates conform to MIL-P-15024, Type H, Style IV, and are 4” x 4” aluminum plates that include fasteners for secure attachment. Text on these plates uses a bold, easy-to-read font (News Gothic Bold) and includes essential details such as container contents and ownership.

ATA Labels

Standard Air Transport Association (ATA) Labels are another option for cases that are frequently transported via air. These labels comply with Specification 300, Category I, and provide clear identification of the case contents, whether it’s delicate equipment, reusable containers, or other cargo that requires special handling. Labels can be customized to include specific handling instructions like “Handle with Care” or “Up Arrows” for proper orientation during shipping.

Card Holder

To further enhance the tracking and documentation process, Pelican cases can also be outfitted with a Card Holder. This metal holder, riveted to the exterior of the case, is designed to hold shipping or inventory cards for easy access. Available in two sizes—2-3/8” x 5-3/8” or 4” x 6”—the card holder can be attached to different areas of the case based on your preference or needs.

With these versatile identification options, Pelican roto mold cases not only provide exceptional protection for your equipment but also ensure efficient inventory management and proper handling throughout their journey.
